Limbo
WHAT YOU'LL NEED:
Mexican or Limbo music Limbo stick (yard stick or broom
stick will work)
INSTRUCTIONS: Two people are needed to hold the limbo
stick - one at each end. Players line up to take their
turn to dance under the limbo stick. While the music
plays, each participant, while standing and bending
backwards, attempts to dance under the limbo stick without
touching it. Once all the participants have made it
through, the limbo stick is then lowered and they again
attempt to go under the limbo stick. The object is to
see how low you can lower the stick and still make it
under without touching the stick . . . how low can you
go?
Mexican Hat Dance
WHAT YOU'LL NEED:
A Sombrero (Mexican hat)
Mexican Music
INSTRUCTIONS: While the music plays, everyone gathers
in a large circle and the sombrero is placed in the
center of the circle. One by one, each person steps
to the center of the circle and takes their turn dancing
around the hat.
Pinata
WHAT YOU'LL NEED:
A piņata
Favors and candy
Stick or bat for breaking the piņata
String
Scarf or rag to use as a blindfold
OBJECT OF THE GAME: To break open the piņata and enjoy
the treats inside.
INSTRUCTIONS: Fill the piņata with the candy and favors.
Hang it from a tree branch outdoors or in an open space
if you're indoors. Players should be able to reach it
with the stick or bat but it should be above their heads
so that they have to reach. Blindfold the first player,
give that player the bat and then spin the player around
three times. Each player should get one chance to bat
at the piņata. If that player does not hit the piņata
and break it open, then the next player gets a turn.
Continue until someone breaks open the piņata and the
treats spill out.
